DATES ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2022 NAUTIQUE REGATTAS

ORLANDO, FL (December 6, 2021) – Nautique Boats along with the World Wake Association (The WWA) are excited to announce the 2022 schedule of the Nautique Regattas. There will be a total of three Regattas across the United States in 2022, as an exclusive experience for Nautique boat owners and are FREE* to attend. These events have become weekends that Nautique families look forward to each year as they enjoy a fun-filled weekend on and off the water with experiences that will create memories and relationships for years to come.

The Nautique Regattas are an exclusive experience tailored specifically for Nautique boat owners. Throughout the weekend, owners can participate in educational sessions, tie up lines, a GromFest for the kids to show off their skills, a weekend long Poker Run, evening themed banquets, and giveaways from the top brands in the industry that are associated with Nautique. One of the most sought-after aspects of the weekend is the ability for owners to schedule a private demo with a Nautique Team athlete, either on their boat or while demoing the newest in the Nautique lineup.

“The Nautique Regattas encompass all that it means to be part of the Nautique family,” said Nautique President Greg Meloon. “Every year I look forward to connecting with our owners from all over the world at these amazing events and I love experiencing life on the water with the customers that keep pushing us to move forward. Owning a Nautique is an unmatched experience, it means that you’re part of the Nautique family and the Regatta events allow us to all celebrate that with one another.”

The Nautique Southeast Regatta will kick things off returning to Lake Lanier in Buford, Georgia. After a successful first year in Rockwall, Texas the South Central Regatta will again return to Rockwell on Lake Ray Hubbard. The Nautique team will then head to a brand new location on Lake Havasu for the much anticipated Nautique Southwest Regatta at the Nautical Beachfront in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The Nautique Regattas represent what watersports are all about, bringing owners, families, and top brands together for an experience like no other. Nautique and the WWA plan to give back to their customers and the watersports community with more unique experiences and added Regattas for years to come.  To join the fun in 2022 at the Nautique Southwest Regatta, Nautique Southeast Regatta or the Nautique South Central Regatta visit: thewwa.com/regatta

EVERYONE WANTS TO BE OUT ON THE WATER, LET BOATMATE GET YOU THERE!

We’re grateful to have Boatmate as an event partner at our Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships, Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships, Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships and Nautique Wakesurf Masters Championships. Not only does Boatmate help get the event towboats to their destination all summer long, they support the sport through giving back to the athletes and education on trailer safety!

THE RIGHT TOW VEHICLE

Towing your boat will impact how any vehicle drives. The larger the boat in comparison to the tow vehicle, the greater the performance impact will be. For this reason, knowing the overall weight of your boat and trailer in comparison to what your vehicle is capable of towing is critical to you and your family safely enjoying a day at the lake. Vehicle manufacturers provide a “Tow Rating” which is the maximum weight of the towed trailer. The GVWR of the trailer, which is listed on the VIN tag located on the front inside of the trailer frame rail, should never exceed the tow rating of your vehicle. Please also specifically read your tow vehicle owner’s manual as some vehicles do have a capable tow rating, but require additional accessories to achieve that rating (please see “weight distribution hitches” below).

 HITCHING
There are many options on the market for properly hitching your trailer to your tow vehicle. Understanding the requirements of the coupler on your trailer as well as the equipment available to install on your tow vehicle are critical elements to ensuring a safe and smooth towing experience. After reviewing your Boatmate Trailers Owner’s Packet to understand the requirements of your coupler please select the proper hitch, receiver, and ball for your tow vehicle. Please keep in mind that not only must you select the correct size for the coupler and your vehicle, but the capacity of the hitch, receiver, and ball must also meet or exceed the GVWR of your trailer. Once you have the correct equipment familiarize yourself with seating the coupler all the way on the ball and ensuring the coupler is securely latched.

 TRAILER COMPONENTS
Understanding the many components that make up your trailer is important to ensure you are ready to tow safely. It is important to understand the importance of properly functioning brakes, properly inflated and rated tires, properly torqued wheel lug nuts, safety chains, emergency break away cables, and properly working lights in order to tow safely. Many of these components should be part of your safety check every time you tow while some only require periodic maintenance. Please refer to your Boatmate Trailers Owner’s Packet for specific information.

PROS DOMINATE THE FINAL DAY OF THE 2021 NAUTIQUE WWA WAKEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS PRESENTED BY YANMAR

Lake Alfred, FL (September 19, 2020)  The all-new Super Air Nautique G23 pulled the world’s greatest to victory in the final day of competition at the 2021 Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by YANMAR. With multiple overall titles on the line to round out the Nautique Wake Series and WWA Wakeboard World Series (WBWS), today’s competition was filled with amazing moments including two “world’s first” moments that left the crowd in awe!

Despite their young age, the Boys division set the crowd ablaze with their incredible riding and impressive history-making moments.  Ten year old Kane Ward (USA) became the youngest rider in wakeboard history to ever land a doubleflip behind the boat as he stomped a heelside double backroll as the final trick of his run.  Kane would win the division with a score of 98.00.  But the metaphorical “lightning” would strike twice during the Boys division as the final rider off the dock, twelve year old Hudson Gentry (USA) brought the heat to Robin Lake by becoming the youngest rider ever to land a mobe 540 as he executed a crow mobe 540 to perfection at the end of his run.  Hudson would take 2nd in the division with an 88.00, followed by Ryder Dillon in third place.

default

Hinano Kishida (JPN) showed up to the Jr. Pro Women’s finals ready to throw down one of her best performances behind the Super Air Nautique G23 in hopes of snagging her first World title. Earning what she came for, Hinano put it all together throwing a textbook batwing and a massive heelside 540 for a final score of 81.67.  In second, Kira Lewis (USA) landed a huge KGB and a heelside 360 to score 76.67, while Kitt Smith would round out the podium with 70.00.

default

For the Jr. Pro Men, Parker Swope (USA) would out-ride his international field of competitors by landing multiple 720s and a mute double half-cab roll to take the win with an 81.00.  Jamie Huser (SUI) would land in second place with a whirly 540 and a KGB 540 but fell early in his second pass to earn him a 77.67, followed by Stefano Comollo (ITA) with a 67.67.

The Pro Women came out swinging for the fences, and despite some rough conditions the ladies threw down in the final!  Meagan Ethell (USA) would take the win with multiple 540s and an impressive nose grab tootsie-roll that earned her a score of 76.67.  Dallas Friday (USA) put together a stand-up run that consisted of a KGB and an OHH to land in 2nd place with a 67.00 and Mary Morgan Howell would receive 3rd place with a 61.33.

Coming off heavy semifinals, Nautique Team Rider Cory Teunissen (AUS) put down an amazing performance in the Pro Men’s final, taking the win with a near flawless run with a 1080, a KGB 540 and a half-cab double backroll.  The cherry on top was Cory’s mega-sized stalefish double backroll off the double-up that sealed the deal and gave him a score of 87.33 and earning his 3rd WWA World title. In second Nic Rapa (AUS) scored 85.00 throwing down an equally impressive run complete with a double indy tantrum with a backside 720 off the double-up scoring him an 85.00. Rounding out the podium in third, Tyler Higham landed a massive heelside 900 to receive a score of 75 and a third place finish.

To wrap-up the season, we crowned the overall winners for both the 2021 Nautique Wake Series and the 2021 Wakeboard World Series.  It would be double podiums for both Meagan Ethell and Cory Teunissen as their victories today at the World Championships would push them both over the top in the overall standings and provide them both with overall victories for the 2021 season.
